The story "Laura and her surprise box" was illustrated by Julia Laborde Delgado and written by Nelbaliz Díaz del Valle. This story is about Laura's birthday, to whom she is given a box of surprises. The box contains different geometric shapes that Laura takes out one by one and remembers toys or objects that she has seen in her house. She eventually finds a letter from her grandmother in which she also refers to some object.

Activities:

  1. At the end of the reading, the reader will ask questions such as what did Laura remember when she saw ...? (mention the geometric figures that appear in the story), what things does that geometric figure remind you of? And what did Laura think when she saw her grandmother's letter?

  1. Put different objects in a box for the children to mention what geometric shape each one looks like. Then look around the classroom for some objects that represent the geometric figures that appear in the story.
  1. Create with plasticine or paint the geometric figures that appear in the story.
